what a fun [&beautiful] portrait session we had last week with sydney! i actually met sydney when she came along to a friend's senior portrait session last year- it is always so much fun to have the opportunity to get to catch up and photograph past clients :)

how fun- this is actually my next door neighbor and i was so excited when she asked if i would come over to get a few images of her new baby as well as baby ryder with his older brother to use for an upcoming baby shower and to surprise the hubby with. she stressed she didnt want them posed, which was good- because these two were in no mood to BE posed! from jumping on the bed to snuggling and forehead kisses- i loved watching and capturing their interactions-

it may be cold outside- but wow- how beautiful some of these snow days have photographed!

we met sweet miss rachel a little over a week ago with her adorable boyfriend- we had such a fun time;  with all of rachel's outfits and her enthusiastic upbeat personality- the portrait session was so enjoyable and if it hadn't been for the freezing cold temperatures- we could have photographed all afternoon!  i loved her outdoor images and from this smile who would ever have guessed her poor fingers were numb :)

meet miss absolutely adorable brittan!

we photographed her senior portraits earlier this afternoon and what a fun session it was- so full of smiles, and even willing to throw snow in the air with barehands?!..what a trooper :). her mom was along and so we did a few images of them together- however, at the moment when all 10 fingers were freezing numb cold outside, i really wished someone could have been photographing behind me to capture brittan's mom jumping around to keep the energy going- like i said, such a fantastically fun session :)

i cant wait to share all of her images with her as well as the blog..but for now, just a few sneak peeks-

where[it]starts

today in conversation, i was asked about our wall convo pieces [and no, this does not mean talking to a wall, if you check out the latest site addition, "designs" you can see some of the collection there..] anyways, i was asked where they come from, how they start- where the idea for the convo piece comes from. while i am hesitant to display just how haywire my brain can get when it has a pen and paper..i promised. so here is a small peek into my inspiration station (that is my pet-name for my creative black book).be sure to check out the new site, and check back often on the blog for a notification that the site is complete and ready for ordering :)

after reviewing my blog from the past year, a few things seem strikingly clear. first, obviously, we have fantastic clients. that aside, i make a lot of empty promises of keeping up with this thing better. and to expand that thought, i fail..miserably at doing so. i am not going to make the same mistake of making some optimistic promise of "im going to start blogging daily." in that case, i would more than likely follow the trend the gyms are used to seeing..like, for the next 30 days, you would see 30 posts and by about march 1st, i would retreat back to blog abandonment. rather, we are going to try this. i have so many announcements to make and i feel like that is kind of the purpose of a blog, and i am super excited to share them with you..especially our newest session offering...however, i just counted and we have over 200 seniors and 5 weddings to still share..not to mention the fantastic misc. clients we had the chance to meet...so, for each "announcement" i post, i will post one (or on a really ambitious day maybe 2 or 3) of our past due clients- sound good? i think so too! ( have i mentioned that is one of the perks of the blog- you can ask questions like that..and never really hear any answer but yours?!)

i need a synonym for promise for as many times as i have "promised" to be better at this...so,

i [insert synonym] to do better blogworld. and i [synonym] to hold myself to it! feel free to chastise me via comments if i start to slack so monumentally again.

[i've had the time of my life] & i owe it all to you...&you...&you...&you..

wow, what a year 2010 was! [although, as i scroll through..it seems it was not a particularly impressive year for blogging...] this past year we not only moved into a new studio space and experienced the amazing ride of "growing pains", but more importantly, we had the opportunity to meet so many absolutely fantastically wonderful clients & friends. while the studio was closed for the holiday break and i worked through behind the scenes organizing and preparations for the next year- and i couldnt help but reflect on what amazing people i have had the opportunity to work with and get to know throughout 2010.

so while it may not be december 31st or even january 1st, tonight is the eve of the studio re-opening for the new year therefore, i wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of you, not just for choosing lizabeth photography for your portraits, but rather for your bright smiles, your interesting conversations, your kindness, your excitement, your referrals, and for making me truly believe i have the greatest job in the world. you have been simply wonderful- and it was truly my pleasure.

here's to each of you who stood in front of my camera-
